Ramblings

Sorry about my unplanned hiatus! I was hoping to blog weeks ago, but I was stuck in a rut. It’s been difficult trying to push myself do anything lately; blogging, doing schoolwork, returning comments, going outside, doing anything remotely productive—meh!

The great weather is making it all better though. I’m finally getting back into the groove of things and on the road to being ultra productive…I hope!

Stuff that happened while I wasn’t blogging

I watched The September Issue a while ago and my first thoughts after finishing it were: “Man! I had no idea making a magazine was so much hard work!” and “Those editorials are so pretty!!11!1! squeeeee!” and let’s not forget, “Grace Coddington! What a talented woman! I WANT TO BE HERRRRRR” heart

So Imagine my surprise when I found the 840-page issue that was featured in the film under our coffee table excaim I decided to carefully extract my faves from the huge volume and hang it up on my bedroom wall to create an “inspiration wall” of sorts.

The first four from the left is from Vogue and the last three is from H&M magazine. I’m thinking of replacing that painting below with another row of prints.

My older sister left this afternoon for her Ottawa & Montréal art trip. I was actually supposed to go on that trip too, but it would cost around $800 if we both went. shock I couldn’t justify spending that much especially since a) it isn’t a trip outside the country so it’s not as exciting, b) I’ve already been to both those places before, and c) not a lot of my friends are even going, so it wouldn’t be as fun for me.

I’m also not that bummed about it because I’m definitely going to next year’s trip! I have to go to one of our big art trips at least once right? Oh and I heard next year’s destination is NEW YORK! sparkle sparkle I’ve never been there before so IT WILL BE AWESOMEEE!!!! WOOO! CAN YOU TELL I’M EXCITEDDDDD??? CAPSLOCK CAPSLOCK CAPSLOCK

...Anyways!

I’m feeling mischievous today (or more like childish), so to celebrate my newfound privacy, here is a list of things I want to do before my sister comes home on Sunday (I feel like Kevin from Home Alone-mwhahaha!):

  1. Jump on her bed
  2. Use her nailpolish
  3. Read her diary (just kidding!)
  4. Wear her shoes
  5. Look through her stuff
  6. Use her stuff
  7. Jump on her bed again!

I want to get the most out of her absence, so do you guys have anymore ideas?

Totally unrelated: My friend who escaped for 2 weeks to Malaysia came back today and gave me this cute coin purse as a gift:

Remember how I said for the New Year, I wanted to design something everyday? Well I thought about it and frankly, I don’t think I’ll be committed enough to do it ‘til the very end. I have a feeling that I’ll lose my motivation along the way, miss some days and screw it all up.

That’s why I’ve decided to partake in something more…achievable, which is Project 365. For those who haven’t heard of it (or are too lazy to click the link), the aim is to basically take a photo each day. Take a photo of the things you did, ate, laughed at, place you went to, your new haircut, anything. This way, you gain a lot of practice camera-wise and I think it’d be nice taking a look back at how your year went, wouldn’t you agree? smile

Initially, I wanted to post all my pictures on Flickr, but seeing as I don’t have a Flickr Pro account and I don’t want to use up the little storage space that I have, I think I’ll upload it to somewhere else. Like Picasa maybe.

So here’s my first picture:

A bit blurry since I used a lot of exposure and it isn’t really a DSLR that I took it with, but here’s the story behind it:

So at around 2:30-ish AM, I finally finished up the Macbeth homework I’ve been trying to complete for hours now and felt a little hungry. Okay, not a little, a LOT hungry. So I went downstairs to the kitchen and made a cup-a-soup. No really, that’s what the soup’s called, a Cup-a-Soup. Anyways, I took a mug out, pulled out a pack of that good stuff, worked on ripping it open while my mind wandered off to all my unfinished homework upstairs, came back to Earth, and then I looked back down at my cup.

Turns out that I accidentally poured the contents of the sachet into someone else’s mug. frustrate And that cup already had some transparent liquid in it! down down down

Seeing that a) it was the last packet of soup b) I didn’t want to waste anything and c) the liquid was (hopefully!) water, I just took a chance and transferred that cup’s liquid into my own cup, added more water and then popped it in the microwave. Once it was hot and ready, I took it upstairs and drank it there… and then realized that it wasn’t water. dead It was actually GINGERALE! nooo UGH!

Of course I felt bad about throwing the contents out (it was the last packet of soup dammit!). So what happened was, I just drank half of it in one go, realized I couldn’t handle the taste, ended up throwing the other half away, and then opted for a bowl of cereal to feed my sad stomach. Oh yeah, and then I finished this blog entry at 4:35AM.

THE END. happy
