In the last post, I said I was going to post pictures of our school’s annual art show, so that’s why I’m here! cheese

The show went on for the whole of last week and it was a major success. It displayed work from all the different departments like design, comm. tech (computer art), art, tech (construction), photography, video, journalism, and fashion arts. All grades taking these courses have to contribute something to the show (which is almost everyone in the school), so there was a lot to see. Obviously I’m not going to show every single picture of every work. Just the ones that stood out to me and the ones that I was proud of.

The theme this year was “eccentrick”. Here’s the funny logo (we paint the logo on the walls of the school every year):

Before this long weekend started, I created a to-do list for all the work I still need to finish for school (and because I like making long lists). I thought that by making this list, I would feel so much more motivated and that I would just zoom through everything by this weekend. But as you can see from the image below, not one of them is checked off yet. dead

There are 10 more weeks left before exam time. I calculated everything and I still need to hand in a total of 63 units. Those who don’t go to my school won’t know what this means, but this is a bad thing. A very bad thing. At times like these, I just wish I went to an ordinary school instead of a self-directed one. Yes, it’s fun to be able to roam around the halls whenever I want and not having my classes scheduled for me. But it means I’m more prone to procrastination. And procrastination = summer school = NOT COOL.

Students who don’t go to a self-directed school are probably glad that school’s almost over. But in my school, we’re dreading that the year’s almost done. We even have this thing called the “June Rush” where everyone is basically running around the school during the last weeks of school, trying to finish everything and begging teachers to let them hand in their work after the deadlines. Many students are worrying that they won’t even finish the grade they’re on in time (having a handful of fifth years and even sixth years in my school is the norm). It’s a good school with a great program, but it really isn’t easy. ohnoes

It’s 2:50 in the morning and I’m so stressed out about my schoolwork that it’s really hard for me to fall asleep. I really should go to sleep though. Tomorrow, my family’s having this big BBQ in our backyard and I also need to get through my to-do list. Wish me luck! lucky
