First of all, I want to thank you for all the nice comments on my thrift store post and the flattering compliments about the layout. I think this one will definitely be staying for quite a while, seeing as it’s such a crowd pleaser.
I was hoping to blog much earlier, but my life has been feeling very bland as of late. I really didn’t want to bore anyone with an entry about how I managed to kill a fruit fly that was buzzing around my room a few days back. No, I wanted to save blogging for the days when something fun actually happened around here. And yesterday was one of those days!
So yesterday, my mum, my two brother’s and I spent our day at the CNE (an annual fair in Canada). We had a lot of fun, especially since the weather was on our side that day.
The first thing we did when we stepped through the gates was go straight to the ribfest. That isn’t what you usually do first thing when you arrive at a fair, but what can I say? We didn’t eat breakfast that morning…and that made the rib sauce all the more yummier. :9

Next, we went roaming around the place. My brother’s got to play some games and my older one went to these betting stalls and actually won some money. It was funny how the dealer had to ask my older brother how old he was.
I guess he looks much too short for his age (i’m a few cm’s from his height!). hahaha

None of us rode any rides, but I still enjoyed my time looking at everything. I took lots of pictures of the different booths there. I really love the old carnival feel to them and it makes me happy that they still use them. Unfortunately, during one part of the day, there was a huge smudge in my camera lens and I didn’t notice it until much later.
Some of my good shots were ruined!

We went inside this huge pavilion to cool off, which had lots of little knick-knack shops, flower stalls, a gallery, and… a sand sculpting competition!
The image below is of the winning sculpture. The whole thing didn’t even fit my small camera screen!

Probably the best part of the day: eating funnel cake. There’s really nothing like eating a plate of hot, sweet dough after walking around all day.
I think I’ve had too much funnel cake this summer..

Before we left, we watched ‘Movie Magic: An Aerial Acrobatics & Skating Show’. The skating stadium was freezing and I was shivering throughout the whole thing. Nonetheless, the show was enjoyable and I had fun singing along to different movie soundtracks they played (my fav was Shrek).
It was also a nice challenge trying to take a picture of the speedy skaters. lol

As we walked out through the gates, it really hit me that it was the last Friday before school begun. THE LAST. To me, going to the CNE was a perfect way to spend my last days of summer. My only regret was that I couldn’t take my whole family and relatives along with me. I really hope we go back next summer. But first, I have to get through this hell of a school year.
Time for me to prepare my school bag…

Oh how I missed the CNE! I used to go every year back when I lived in Toronto, and my favorite part were the rides

Flowing with School sucks….
‘-_-
aha xD
I like G-Dragon’s hair either way, but I like his blond hair a lot. It’s really cool. aha XD
When’s school starting for you? Is it on the same day as mine or different? :/
CNE is the Ex right? With the neon green thingies that they hand out to kids for free admission? XD
I remember going there once….. *flashback*

I haven’t been at the CNE for… 5 or 6 years. I should go next year sometime. I hate the rides, but the food is always yummy.
That sand sculpture is… Amazing, people are not even allowed to be that good. I like the old-school feel to the photos

Gah! Rub it in why don’t you… XD
I don’t even see the point of changing the prices. ‘-_- I only like like 45 minutes to an hour away from Toronto. Dang money yankers.
10 minutes from your High School?!
Mine’s like half an hour to 45 minutes away on foot. Gah. lucky lucky you. XD

lmao, you should totally do that and see how your teachers are like xD Maybe you do have a hillbilly-viking teacher xD
Oooh, that’s so cool!
So he must be really hot if he looks like a model??

Those kinds of fairs (or carnivals) are lots of fun. But I find my enjoyment by just being there, not by wanting to ride on the rides (although, I love the scrambler ride: http://tinyurl.com/mhd9ph)
You and your funnel cakes! xD It looks so yummy! Now you’ve made me craving for funnel cakes, haha.
Hey, I judge a book by its cover too. If the cover looks tacky, then I won’t read it (unless I read the summaries on the back/inside). :P Really though, everything comes down to the cover! That’s why if being an author don’t turn out too well, I want to be a book cover designer and make every YA book pretty! xD

I am glad you had a good day that is really wonderful. It’s nice after having days that are a bit dull and weary to have something that really brightens and lifts your mood. And having the photos will make that memory even shinier!

THANKS! And yeah, those are Korean numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4.
-Sigh- yeah. My algebra teacher is so speedy. I should call her Flash or something. This class isn’t looking too bright for me. Already into the school year I’m failing.
Thanks for luck, I’m going to need it when that time comes around! Hehe. My parents claim tarantula is tasty. xD
Yep, my parent’s camera is exactly the same! An old model of a digital camera. I remember seeing it and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Now it looks junky compared to my siblings thin ones!

I envy your area for having such a nice weather. It’s been raining here a lot lately
I miss going to fairs! It’s been awhile since i’ve been to one.
