Around December of last year, I bought these pretty photo cards from Winners:

Empty photo cards

Unlike some people, my family doesn’t give out family photo cards for Christmas. You know, the ones with a corny Christmas-themed family picture pasted on the cover? Maybe with a lame, drop-shadowed font spelling out “The ______ Family wish you a Happy Holidays!” Yeah, I know you know the one.

Well, I got these photo cards that were obviously meant for that purpose, but as I said, we just don’t do that stuff. So, in a nutshell, this pack of beautiful cards sat untouched in my bottom drawer for a whole year. What a waste, right? down

Forward to Tuesday of this week when, as I was wrapping my friends’ gifts, I realized that I had forgotten to buy cards to go along with their gifts. embarassed But then, an idea popped into my head! (I love when that happens) idea I dug these out of my drawer, popped open Photoshop, and went to work on designing spiffy covers for their cards. Unfortunately, my clunky printer didn’t do my designs any justice, so I had to waste some more ink, give it a few more tries, and give my printer a little pep talk before it turned out the way I wanted it to.

Here’s the end result:

Yeah, the edges of the vectored Christmas ornaments aren’t very smooth. My mouse was running out of energy okay?
