First, some words that pretty much sum up my one-week break: AGO, bicycles, air, Warhol, floral, sunlight, rest, nail-polish, Elvis, family, Nestlé drumsticks, Picasso, downtown, train route, exploring, Dad’s stories, walking walking walking, Häagen-Dazs, Interview Magazine, art, bubble tea, and most definitely: UNPRODUCTIVE.

Oddly enough, I’m quite fine with that.

I’ve decided to increase the size of my blog photos, which means—quite obviously—bigger pictures! And a slower computer on your end! And lots of scrolling!

The AGO

Photos I took at one of the few areas we were actually allowed to hold our cameras, let alone use them:

imageBelieve it or not, that block of wood my sister is standing in front of is actually a piece of artwork, and that scary gallery guard supervisor lady kept snapping at people who mistook it for a bench and children who climbed on it.

Interview Magazine

I’ve always loved Interview Magazine and their site although I’ve never owned an issue of theirs. I always thought it was only sold in American newsstands so I kinda-sorta freaked out when I saw one on display in a convenient store in downtown T.O.

imageI was surprised by the dimensions of the actual magazine—it’s taller and wider than regular ones so it didn’t even fit in my bag and I had to walk, holding it everywhere I went including the AGO. But in the end, it was so so so so worth it!

imageThat day, I not only saw a Warhol piece while I was in the AGO, but I also brought one home! (after a quick google search, I learned that Warhol started Interview Magazine) What a pleasant coincidence smile

imageimageimageThese are some of the ads/editorials I liked. I know the last one is a bit…provocative? But you can’t deny the beauty of those photos. The warm tones, the hair, the make-up, the clothes, the way it’s so fearlessly in-your-face—something I don’t see very often in other mags. And it’s not tasteless either. To me, it looks classy.

Canada Blooms

My parents dragged us to this thing called Canada Blooms which was a flower & garden festival. I really don’t know what I was doing there, but it smelled nice I guess?

Okay, I’m tired of uploading photos. I’ll stop here. Bye!
