I woke up this morning to this:

It’s the first real snow day here (no, really, yesterday I still saw green grass) and already there have been lots of school bus cancellations and heavy traffic reported everywhere. My dad was driving my mum to work and they got stuck on the road for about an hour so couldn’t drop us off at school—which is why I’m sitting here at home, happily missing classes. My house is not that far from school, but who would want to walk in this?!
Things I loathe about winter:
- The sky is grey. All day, everyday. I hate the absence of the sun & the blue sky.

- The slush that seeps into your boots and numbs your feet.
- The wind that stings your eyes and likes to pinch your face, giving you really bad windburn.
- The dry air that frizzes your hair, makes your skin itch for lotion, and gives you chapped lips.
- It’s nothing like the wintry scenes you see on postcards. There are no cute animals wandering about and eating from your hands.
- Having to bundle up! Don’t get me wrong, I like wearing layers. But sometimes it just gets too heavy and it’s difficult to move around.
