I don’t know about you, but this is the first time I’ve actually kept track with the Olympic games. Before this year’s Olympics, I would only watch the Opening Ceremony, and that would be it. Maybe it’s because of how huge of a deal it is for China and how awesome the Opening Ceremony was. Or maybe it’s because this year, I can actually see the overall medal standings online. Who knows?
But anyways, I got to watch some gymnastics, cycling, swimming, boxing, fencing, water polo, rowing and the great basketball game between US and China. To be honest, I never even knew what water polo was until I saw it being played in the Olympics. Even though Canada hasn’t gotten any medals yet, I’m looking forward to seeing more of Canada’s rowing team and it’s fencing team play this week.
I’m also really excited for the 2010 winter games in Vancouver. I just know that Canada will do really well “in their element” so to speak.
The 2008 Beijing Olympic games have actually helped me spend less time in front of my computer, which is good news! So any of you glued to your TV like me?

i was watching a documentary about the olympics back in the day and tug of war used to be an olympic sport. how about that hahahaha.
i don’t like summer olympics as much as i like winter olympics. and what with the politics surrounding this year’s games, i’d rather not get involved.
haha, omg. i am sooo glued to the TV right now. i’m especially trying to keep track with the swimming competitions Michael Phelps is in! they’re so intense… <3
hope you’re having a great summer, hazel!
